In our recent “Customer versus Merchant: Two Sides to a Chargeback” infographic, we highlighted the fact that fraud cases (in which a credit card is used without the consent of its owner) represent the most common reason chargebacks occur. Unfortunately, new research has come to light indicating that identity fraud is on the rise again. As a result, merchants must take even more precautions to keep their customers safe and minimize the bite that chargebacks can take out of profits.
